‘Library of Greatness’ makes a splash

After seven years of both formal and informal research, Dr. Vincent Anderson has developed the first of many community-building initiatives for V3P. The first project to be released goes by the name of ‘Library of Greatness’. When asked about the significance of the program, Dr. Anderson stated, “I feel that African American children have been inundated with images and stories of African American athletes and entertainers. However, although we love our athletes and entertainers, they make up a very small percentage of what life is truly like for African Americans in this country. I felt that it was equally important to highlight the everyday African Americans who maintain healthy and productive lifestyles outside of the athletics and entertainment industries.”

How did the first two days of filming go? According to the V3P staff, everything worked out seamlessly. There were a total of 22 hardworking and inspirational African American adults who showed up to do their part by sharing their stories with our youth. Overjoyed about the large level of support, Dr. Anderson went on to say, “You just don’t know how excited I am to share this with our youth. African American youth all over the country will have access to this information and stand to benefit immensely from these professionals and their stories.” Between the many laughs and conversations, it seems that V3P has made a splash as they kick off their first of many inspiring programs.
